Josh Hayes named boys head basketball coach at Hot Springs

Josh Hayes has been named boys head basketball coach at Hot Springs after coaching at White Hall since 2020.

The Hot Springs School District announced the hire in the press release shared below:

The Hot Springs School District has named Josh Hayes Head Boys Basketball Coach at the Hot Springs World Class High School for the 2024-2025 school year.

Hayes brings 18 years of coaching experience to Hot Springs and comes from White Hall High School where he has served as Head Boys Basketball Coach since 2020. Among his highlights from coaching at White Hall was making the state tournament for the first time in nine years this past season. Before White Hall, he was Head Boys Basketball Coach at eSTEM Public School where he had four 20-win seasons. While still in college, Hayes worked as a graduate assistant with the University of Central Arkansas Men’s basketball program.

“I’m excited,” Hayes said. “This is wonderful. I’m so thankful for the opportunity. I’m looking forward to getting to Hot Springs and getting started.”

“We are excited to welcome Coach Hayes to the Trojan family,” Superintendent Dr. Stephanie Nehus said. “He brings a wealth of experience to the basketball program and we are confident that the players will thrive under his leadership.”

Rodney Echols, Director of Athletics, Maintenance, and Transportation, said the District was impressed with Coach Hayes’ emphasis on education and his coaching philosophy.

“His commitment to athletic and educational excellence will help our student-athletes thrive for success under his leadership,” Echols said. “We are excited to work with Coach Hayes and look forward to building on the Hot Springs Trojan Basketball tradition.”

Hayes holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from the University of Central Arkansas. He plans to relocate to Hot Springs with his two sons.
