Brian Ross resigns as Little Rock Central head basketball coach

Little Rock Central head basketball coach Brian Ross announced his resignation from the Tigers’ basketball program on Monday morning.

Ross issued a statement saying he is pursuing a career outside of basketball.

“Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of the great history of this school and basketball program for the past six years. I truly got to live out my childhood dream by being the head coach of the Little Rock Central Tigers.

When I began coaching 18 years ago, I could never have imagined the blessings that would have come to my family and I through this journey. I’m thankful to every player and coach that I’ve gotten to work with. These guys have given everything they had in pursuit of excellence. Without their effort, sacrifice and commitment, none of the success we’ve achieved would’ve been possible.

Thank you to my wife, Sydney, for your unwavering support, sacrifice and commitment throughout this journey. I would also like to thank the parents, administrators, alumni and fans who supported our mission here at Central. It really just means more to do it here at Central, and your support and enthusiasm is unmatched anywhere else.

I’m moving on to the next chapter of my life as I pursue a career outside of basketball. I will forever cherish the memories made in my career.

Go Tigers!!”

Ross led the Central Tigers to the 2024 Class 6A State Championship. It is the first State Championship for the Tigers program since 1999. He finishes his career with Little Rock Central with a record of 101-46.
