Conway names Buck James head football coach

The Conway Wampus Cats hired Buck James as its next head football coach. A press release from the school is shared below:

Conway Public Schools District has named Coach Buck James as the lone finalist for head football coach.

With over 30 years of coaching to his credit. He currently has 14 awards for Conference Coach of the Year, 13 Conference Championships, was named the Little Rock Touchdown Club Coach of the Year, is a Three-time Hooten’s Coach of the Year, the Lowell Manning award, the KATV/Red River Dodge Coach of the Year, the KATV/Coleman Dairy Coach of the Year and AAA Coach of the Year.

Coach James has won 7 overall Championship titles with 5 Consecutive State Championships at the 7A classification, the highest division in the state, with 9 State Championship appearances overall and a 54-0 game in-state winning streak.

Coach James stated, “Conway is the most attractive job in the state”!
